The Holiday Season begins

Bazaars and Entertainments

These tents are now put away until next May.
It's November now and our farmer's market vendors have packed their awnings and booths away until next Spring. But you'll see some of these craftsmen now at the bazaars on the calendar here in Sequim.

vote tuesday

Tuesday is election day.

State and local races will be decided. Washington has several initiatives on the ballot -which also require voter action. In Sequim and Clallam County the entire election has been conducted as a mail-in ballot. Be sure that yours is postmarked no later than Tuesday election day or it will not be counted. The count can take up to a week before certification...

And Tuesday Is Veteran's Day; the Armistice Day of my youth -
that moment when the guns of WW1 were silenced, at last, and Grampa came back home. It just never really ends, does it?

Never forget those who fell.

a weather front brought high winds
A weather front passed through here creating quite a ruckus; the wind was blowing very hard. It was not a good time to be out there on the water of the Straits; we could see the big cargo ships steaming through the spray, but the little guys should have stayed in port. Now it is quite cold- below freezing in the cold clear nights; our garden plants have frozen - It is time to clean up the mess. I yanked in the Jasmine- since she was growing in a wheeled pot- just hours before first freeze. Now she is looking out the sliding glass door onto the patio; her roots snug and w-a-r-m.
