No, this salad for a dozen people didn't go to the
Clallum County Fair this weekend-
it just went into our refrigerator.
The 84th annual Clallam County Fair is being held this August 14-17th, 2003, in Port Angeles at the Fairgrounds near the Airport. What you'll find there - The works: critters, entertainment, baking contests, 4-H shows, diaper derbies, arts and crafts, rodeo, logging matches, arm wrestling! contests, a petting zoo, cat and dog shows and so much more... and the carnival and lots of food. Special to this fair is the antique farm and logging equipment display - always a favorite here - see how it 'used to be'.
Now, closer to home, the Family Farm and
The Cutting Garden on
Dahlia Llama Lane are at the peak of production, too. Dahlia Bulb sales begin in September.

- Last week's bouquet
lasted more than seven days! Freshness counts.

In the fall they will dig up the tubers and sell them from their farm and via their website.
That yellow farmhouse in the background is a lovely place
which the owners rent out for day use - special events - such as weddings.
It has its own garden- lots of lavender for fragrance, and is a beautiful setting for those momentus occasions.
Oh, and yes, there were llamas on the adjacent farm, down on Dahlia-Llama lane..

and it has a lavender farm as a neighbor, too.
