Send a postcard from Sequim
Not too far from town,- turn south down the side road to Lost Mountain- there's
The Lost Mountain Lavender Farm.
As part of the Lavender Festival, the owners opened their 8 farms up to the public. Several of the vendors from Saturday's Faire set up their shops in the different lavender farms last Sunday. There were a dozen different craftspeople here. Since the Festival was a three day afffair this year it was easier to see more farms.
Special here today were U-pick options, and a barbeque.
This showroom cottage featured their own lavender lemonade, a thirst-quenching delight this hot sunny day. Also, they promised lavender honey in the fall... the hives are ready.
A few miles up that road, then a sharp right turn through these leafy woods,
you'll find the Lost Mountain Winery. Do check out
their website
for an delightful look at this complex business.
This winery produces wines without adding sulfites - a plus to those of us who
suffer from sulfite-induced headaches.

We were greeted by a big smile and wagging tail from this golden lab.
The beautiful tasting room has an extensive gift selection, too.
The proprietor said that they sell 90% of their wines through the tasting room
and the website, and include some of the Peninsula's finest eating places
among their customers.
How fortunate that we found them!
