Our neighbor has his Merchant Mariners tribute up for the holiday.

We gather to remember all those who fought for our liberty and freedom, and to remind ourselves to keep the vigil, too.

On Friday...The Sequim Community Picnic
*** - a family-fest gathering at Carrie Blake Park to celebrate the Fourth - ***with games for the kids. Bring along your own picnic basket and join in the fun.

Also at the Park the Sequim Valley Auto Club members will show off their vintage automobiles - all polished up and in tiptop shape.

On the Sequim Calendar for July

Download applications for the Lavender Festival's 5K race (a run, or walk) which takes place on Saturday the 17th. From the Olympic Game Farm, you'll head downhill along the Dungeness River. Proceeds will benefit the Olympic Peninsula Seniors Health Research Institute.

Lavender Farm tours, A crafters' market, and other special activities are planned for the Lavender Festival. Look for taste treats like lavender bagels from the Olympic Bagel Company created just for this special weekend!

The Elks, as well as the Peninsula Friends of Animals, are also having their annual rummage sale fund-raiser Friday and Saturday the 16th and 17th (Lavender Festival weekend.) ...The more the merrier, for garage-sale fanatics. It is going to be a very busy weekend.
